Noida International Airport (NIA) is set to become the largest airport in India and the fourth largest in the world. Located on the Yamuna Expressway in Gautam Buddha Nagar, it aims to redefine the concept of airports in India, offering a modern, user-friendly, and efficient travel experience. The project, assigned to Zurich Airport International AG, is designed to position NIA as a smart alternative to existing airports in the National Capital Region.
We began by identifying NIA’s target audience, which includes business and leisure travellers, airlines, commercial establishments, and logistic partners. Through meetings and detailed analysis, we identified their pain points, needs, and aspirations. Our strategy focused on positioning NIA as a leader in quality, efficiency, technology, and sustainability. We defined the brand personality as innovative, imaginative, and caring, aiming to create a seamless and enriching travel experience.
The visual identity for NIA was designed to capture its essence. The logo features a Sarus Crane, which is not only the state bird of Uttar Pradesh but also symbolises grace and longevity. This choice reflects local cultural significance and connects with the region’s rich biodiversity. The Sarus Crane’s upward movement conveys positivity and progress, resonating with both domestic travellers who value cultural heritage and international visitors who appreciate eco-consciousness.
Moreover, as a greenfield project, NIA emphasises environmental friendliness as a core value. The logo’s design aligns with this commitment, representing the airport’s aspiration to integrate seamlessly with nature while promoting sustainable practices. The blue-green colour gradient further reinforces this connection, symbolising technology and eco-consciousness. Soleto, a contemporary font, was selected for its modern yet elegant character. The imagery style is candid yet imaginative, ensuring that every visual element aligns with the brand’s innovative and user-friendly ethos.
The comprehensive approach has led to the development of a cohesive brand identity that positions NIA as not just an airport but a one-stop destination for travel, leisure, business, shopping, entertainment, and stay. As NIA prepares for its operational launch, the brand strategy and visual identity lay a strong foundation for its future success in the aviation industry while appealing to a diverse audience.
